Janet Maylen, NDN Foundation Program Officer, is an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and also of the Seminole Nation. She provides support to the NDN Grant Programs, NDN Changemaker Fellowship, and NDN Prize. She has over 10 years of experience in grant writing, economic development, project management, and financial administration. Janet holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Native American Studies and Anthropology and a Certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University. She also supports food sovereignty, agriculture, language and cultural initiatives in her community. She resides on the SCOTUS-affirmed Creek reservation in rural Hughes County, Oklahoma with her husband and two daughters where she gardens and raises chickens.
